Articulo 619 . Los títulos valores son documentos
necesarios para legitimar el ejercicio del derecho literal y autónomo que en
ellos se incorpora, pueden ser de contenido crediticio, corporativo o de
participación y de tradición o representativo de mercancías. Desde el punto de
vista material el título valor es un documento escrito, siempre firmado
(unilateralmente) por el deudor; es además un pedazo de papel que contiene
diversas menciones En un segundo plano, se define al título valor como un
derecho en beneficio de una persona. El derecho consignado en el documento,
nace con la creación de éste. Tiene un valor en la actividad económica en
general y en los negocios mercantiles en especial, por ello y para el
desarrollo de la economía de un país, interesa que el titulo como valor en sí
mismo, pueda entrar en circulación económica como los demás bienes. Quien
suscribe un título valor se obliga a una prestación frente al poseedor del
título, o quién resulte tal, y no subordina esa obligación a ninguna
aceptación, ni a ninguna contra prestación.
